Drift silently over Marrakech's vast palm grove and the surrounding Berber countryside as the sun rises behind the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas. The flight itself lasts roughly an hour — but the silence, the perspective, and the colours that flood the desert at dawn make it one of the most unforgettable experiences of any trip to Morocco.
The full experience runs about three and a half hours from your Marrakech riad. Pickup is before sunrise. After a short drive to the launch site north of the city, you'll watch your balloon inflate before climbing into the basket. Floating between 200 and 1,000 metres above the Marrakech plain, you'll see palm groves, Berber villages, distant kasbahs and — on clear winter mornings — the snow line of the High Atlas turning gold in the rising sun.
On landing, a traditional Berber breakfast is served in a Bedouin-style tent: fresh bread, homemade jams, olive oil, mint tea, eggs, fruit and pastries. You'll receive a personalised certificate of flight, and your driver will return you to your riad in time for a full Marrakech morning.

Your Morning
Collected from Your Riad
Your private driver collects you from your Marrakech riad before dawn. The roads are quiet, the air is cool. A short 30-minute drive takes you to the launch site in the countryside north of the city. Coffee and Moroccan pastries are available on arrival to wake you up gently.
Watch the Balloons Come to Life
Watch as the giant balloons are inflated against the pre-dawn sky — first by giant fans, then by powerful burners that send orange flames and warmth into the silk envelopes. The moment they stand upright is one of the most photogenic of the whole experience. Brief safety talk from your pilot.
Climb into the Sky
Lift off as the first light of sunrise touches the Atlas peaks. The ascent is so smooth you barely feel it — only the disappearing ground below tells you you're flying. Drift silently above palm groves, Berber villages, ancient kasbahs and almond orchards. The pilot will turn the balloon gently throughout the flight so everyone gets every view.
Touch Down with the Sun Already Up
Land gently in a field somewhere in the Marrakech countryside — exactly where depends on the wind. The chase team is already waiting to help you out. Your pilot presents your personalised certificate of flight as a souvenir. Photos with the basket and balloon as it deflates.
Feast in a Bedouin Tent
A short drive to a traditional Bedouin-style tent where a Berber breakfast is served on low tables: fresh-baked Moroccan bread, homemade jams and olive oil, eggs, fruits, pastries, mint tea and coffee. Time to relax, swap stories with fellow travellers, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a meal in the open countryside.

Who Can Fly
Children aged 6+ welcome with parents. Not recommended for pregnant women or anyone with serious back conditions. Minimum height 1.20m to see over the basket.
Weather & Cancellation
Flights run year-round but depend on weather. If the pilot cancels for safety, you'll be offered a free reschedule or a full refund — no questions asked.
What to Wear
Comfortable clothes you can move in, closed-toe shoes for the field landing, and warm layers — the desert is cold before sunrise even in summer. Hat recommended for the burner heat.
Cameras & Phones
Bring your camera, phone, GoPro — anything you like. The flight is so smooth that even handheld shots come out crisp. We recommend a wrist strap to be safe.
