Just under three hours from Marrakech, Essaouira — the old Portuguese port once known as Mogador — is one of Morocco's most relaxed and beautiful escapes. Whitewashed walls, blue fishing boats, sea-sprayed ramparts, and a laid-back medina make it the perfect contrast to the bustle of the Red City.
Travelling in a comfortable private air-conditioned vehicle, you'll cross the countryside, pass the famous argan tree forests where goats climb the branches, and stop at a women's argan oil cooperative along the way. Once in Essaouira you'll have around four hours of free time to explore the port, the UNESCO medina, the souks, and the beach at your own pace — before an easy drive back to Marrakech in the evening.

Hotel Pickup in Marrakech
Your driver-guide meets you at your hotel or riad in central Marrakech. Settle into the air-conditioned vehicle and set off west toward the coast.
Coffee & Rest Stop
After about 1h30 on the road, we pause for a short break — coffee, a bite, and a restroom stop — before continuing through the countryside.
Argan Forest & Women's Cooperative
Keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing goats in the argan forest, then visit a women's cooperative to see how Morocco's prized argan oil is made — and sample cosmetic and culinary products with no pressure to buy.
Arrival in Essaouira
Drop-off at the edge of the old medina. Your driver explains the meeting point and time, then your free time to explore begins.
Free Time to Explore (≈4 hours)
Discover Essaouira at your own rhythm — the working fishing port and its blue boats, the Skala sea bastion lined with old bronze cannons, the UNESCO-listed medina, artisan and jewellery souks, and the wide sandy beach. Enjoy a fresh grilled-seafood lunch by the water (an optional guided walk, camel, or quad ride can be arranged).
